Patterson Companies Inc. distributes lab supplies, paper goods, needles and syringes, gauze and wound dressings, sutures, latex gloves, orthopedic, and casting products; pharmaceuticals, including anesthetics, antibiotics, injectibles, ointments, and diagnostics to veterinarians. The stock trades at 19.4 times earnings. The company also pays a dividend of 1.7%. Revenues were up 2.3% for the latest quarter, with earnings up 1%.
MWI Veterinary Supply, Inc. (MWIV) distributes pharmaceuticals, vaccines, diagnostics, capital equipment, supplies, veterinary pet food, and nutritional products to veterinarians. The P/E is 25.3 and the stock does not pay a dividend. For the latest quarter, earnings were up 14.6% on an 11% boost in revenues.
